Central Park

When one thinks of New York, it always includes Central Park. It's a central part of New York's identity and to me it symbolises the ambition of the city. When Central Park was created it was in the centre of Manhattan but lay miles to the north of the city limits of New York. It's strange to think that they had such confidence that they knew that it would be in the right place.
The sheer enormity of the park is mindboggling, especially considering that it was artificially created. I would say that it could probably fit Sydney's CBD a few times over and still have room as it stretches from the end of Midtown up to Harlem.
My only real regret is I didn't go ice skating in the outdoor rink in Central Park when I had the chance.
